ELKHART — The city council will conduct a special meeting Monday, March 31, to introduce another tract of land for annexation.

The meeting is at 6 p.m. in the council chambers.

The tract of land had been part of the phase four but was removed from that grouping because the other three areas in phase four cannot precede until other annexations are completed.

The area that will be reviewed Monday is on the southeast outskirts of the city. It involves property commonly known as C.R. 17 and Toledo Road. However, while the area includes land north and south of Toledo Road, it is roughly 2,000 feet west of C.R. 17.

The city council will consider whether to adopt a resolution on first reading and accept a fiscal plan.

A public information meeting for 4A and other parts of phase 3 will be April 15. The public hearing will be June 16. Final adoption is scheduled for July 21. If approved, the annexation would take effect Jan. 1, 2015.
