After $5,000 theft, Santa's Pantry aims to help Cub Scout Pack 762

After a Cubs Scout Pack 762's fundraising money was stolen by the group's pack master and used to buy fast food, a local non-profit organization is hosting a dinner to help the boys raise the money.

Santa's Pantry and the Pay It Forward 4-H Club are hosting a chili dinner at Eastwood Elementary School, 53215 C.R. 15, Elkhart. About 20 students from third to 12th grade will host the dinner.

The dinner is from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, April 4, and attendees are asked to give a donation in exchange for a bowl of hot chili. All of the money will go to the Cub Scout Pack 762.

Santa's Pantry is also accepting donations of raw hamburger, cans of chili beans, cans of diced tomatoes, other chili ingredients including spices, side dishes such as corn bread, bowls and spoons for the chili dinner.

To donate supplies, contact Debbie Micola at Santa's Pantry-Pay It Forward by calling 574-361-3338 or emailing
