GOSHEN — Community educators, youth care workers and law enforcement professionals will meet later this month to discuss how to improve children's lives.
The sixth annual Community Summit on Children will be March 19 at the Maple City Chapel, 2015 Lincolnway East.
"Bringing people together to solve problems has proven successful in the past. Our children deserve our best efforts,” event coordinator Deborah Domine said in a statement.
Speaking at the event will be Justice Loretta Rush of the Indiana Supreme Court, Indiana DCS director Mary Beth Bonaventura, Santa Cruz, Calif., probations officer Theresa Castaneda and State Rep. Rebecca Kubacki, R-Syracuse.
The event is not open to the public. However, educators, youth care workers, youth care providers, participants in the juvenile justice system, case managers, law enforcement professionals and any others involved in bettering the welfare of children are encouraged to attend.
The summit is sponsored by the Elkhart County Juvenile Court and funded through the Indiana Supreme Court Improvement Grant.
