Town of Bristol may annex new Industrial Drive, which may be open by the end of May

• Announced a special council meeting for the first reading of the ordinance to annex Industrial Drive at 7:30 on Thursday, May 1. Industrial Drive is the new road being built between S.R. 15 and the Earthway Industrial Park. A meeting for the final reading of the annexation ordinance is planned for 3 p.m. Friday, May 23. Industrial Drive may be open by the end of May.
• Reminded residents that the town’s ordinances concerning abandoned or junk vehicles, what kind of surface cars can be parked on, and yard care are on the Bristol Police website at www.bristolpolice.org.
• Announced that spring leaf pick-up will begin April 21 and run through May 1. Residents can discard unwanted household items at Town Clean-up Days from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m.Friday, May 2, and Saturday, May 3 in Hermance Park.
• Heard a presentation from Jeff Rowe with Umbaugh and Associates on refinancing the outstanding wastewater revenue bonds, taken out in 1998. By refinancing the bonds for the remainder of the eight years left to pay on them, Umbaugh and Associates estimated the town could net a savings of $109,000.
