A Valentine's Day poem for 63 years of love

For Glenn and Norma Jean Marks, love is everything.

"It's the greatest thing in all the world, is love," Marks said. "It's one of those things that you can't really explain. You can live it, but you can't explain it."

The couple met in 1946 and married in 1950. Throughout their lives, love - both for each other and for Jesus Christ - led them to ministry. They opened five churches together while raising four children.

"We've been busy," Norma Jean noted with a laugh.

Their four children gave them 14 grandchildren, who gave them three great-grandchildren. Pictures of their family grace the walls and shelves of their Elkhart apartment.

While they have been tested once or twice, their love and commitment to each other has only grown during their 63 years of marriage.

In honor of Valentine's Day, Glenn shared a poem he wrote for Norma Jean in the 1980s. He plans on publishing it in a book he is writing about their life together.

"It's kind of out of character that I would write something like that," Glenn said. "I just got inspired."
