MISHAWAKA — Jacquie Rost earned her 500th career high school volleyball coaching victory Tuesday, Sept. 10, as visiting Elkhart Memorial beat Mishawaka 25-16, 24-26, 26-24, 25-16 at the Cave.

“I don’t think wins are why anybody stays in coaching for 19 years, but I was kind of surprised how much I thought about this today to be honest,” Rost said after being presented congratulatory flowers by her team. “It’s been kind of a nostalgic day, a fun day to think back about former players, and hear from those players, and to enjoy this current team that has worked so hard to get better.”

Rost, who has guided the Crimson Chargers to four State Finals appearances, seven sectional titles and 10 conference titles, raised her career record to 500-133 in her 19th varsity season.
