SOUTH BEND – Today, just a few days after Notre Dame nose guard Louis Nix suffered a season-ending injury, the team announced center Nick Martin's season would also end early due to a knee injury he sustained during last night's winning game against BYU.

According to WNDU's report, Martin's injury was significant. Additionally, the player was dealing with an already injured hand.

Matt Hegarty will be taking over Martin's spot for the rest of the season and will start in Notre Dame's game against Stanford on Nov. 30.
