Cristano's Take-N-Bake Pizza Factory closed at the end of business Saturday, but there's a chance it could reopen elsewhere.

Owner Stan Oyer said the location in Dunlap could have been good, but GPS units couldn't find 2809 Ferndale Drive, even though it's basically C.R. 15 and is right next to Meijer and IHOP. He also said the name tricked people because they thought Cristano's should have an 'h.'

He opened the restaurant in 2009 to offer pizzas customers could take home and bake. He had fans, particularly people who wanted a gluten-free product.

He'd love to reopen, but would need funding or to partner with another business to do so. You can read more at blogs.etruth.com/diningalaking.

Ÿ The tax auction of the contents of Riverview Tavern/Ma's happened last Monday, June 10, in White Pigeon.

The neon clock went for $3,850, according to Steve “Froggy” Frauhiger, who bid the item. Frauhiger, who owns 5 & 20 Country Kitchen as well as Hopper's, said the rest of the tables, chairs and restaurant equipment brought $1,000 or less.

He said employees and the owners Ed and Barb Shearer were at the event and were shedding some tears. “It was sad,” he said.

Ÿ Iechyd Da Brewing Co. had about 500 people at its first anniversary bash on June 8, according to owner Summer Lewis. The outside tent with two bands was popular and inside was full as well. They served about 300 gallons of beer at the event, she said.

Ÿ The first Tour de Farm put on by Goshen Farmers Market was a much smaller event, but a lot of fun as well. About 30 people toured the farm of Fritz Miller, owner of Fish Lake Organic Berry Patch, after riding from the market in Goshen. I helped plan the event, which was a fundraiser for the market at 212 W. Washington St.

Ÿ Last week's column announced the winners of the six-word restaurant review contest. You can see the full list at http://blogs.etruth.com/DiningALaKing

I'll use similar contests in the future to give away items or barbecue tickets. Stay tuned.
