GOSHEN — Benton Mennonite Church is hosting a dedication service to celebrate the church’s new solar panels.

The dedication will begin at noon Sunday, Sept. 15, on the south side of the building, where the solar panels are visible. After the service, homemade ice cream and a fellowship meal will be shared, according to a press release from the church

The solar panels were installed in July and began working Aug. 20. So far, the panels have generated 1065 Kwh of electricity, more than the 949 Kwh that the building has used over the same time period.
