Is it any wonder that this nation is in such a financial quagmire when we spend 38 percent more money for Pentagon purposes than we spend on diplomacy intended to reduce the threat of warfare and its related expenses?

I've heard of paying it forward, but I didn't believe it really happened to me! I hope I can make a difference to someone, sometime.

Students (males) are allowed to wear cotton-thin underwear and pull their jeans down completely below their buttocks, showing their cheeks with the underwear riding up their crack. If there is a dress code, I certainly don't agree with it.

Logically, if a baby in the womb can legally be killed, why not after birth? What is the difference?

Since 1971 the personal exemption has been $1,000 for persons under age 65 and $2,000 for persons over age 65.

The reason I wrote the above was a reaction to what people have been saying since the 1970s and probably earlier. They tried to make society better by telling us to be good.

If our political representatives at the state level are concerned about student achievement, they need to address the economic and social conditions that cause families to frequently uproot and move.

A stadium at the Foundry site could benefit from tie-ins to downtown activities — folks looking for good family oriented entertainment close to home, many restaurants nearby that are already established — and it becomes a part of a growing downtown commercial base.
