On Aug. 13, Charles Mumaw wrote,“This is the lowest number of laws passed since 1973 records. This is our laziest, most useless and least productive Congress ...” Since Mr. Mumaw knew those records, he must also have known that the Republican-controlled House had passed 357 bills that the Democrat-controlled Senate did not consider.
The House complained that 30 of those bills were designed to help our unemployment problem and that over 200 of those bills were passed with unanimous support. While Mr. Mumaws's characterization of Congress is accurate, he fails to point out that it is the Democrat-controlled Senate that has caused the problem and not even considered the bills passed by the House.
With the election in November we should be able to have the Republicans take control of the Senate and retain control of the House and thus be able to pass laws that will benefit our country.
