We, the family of U.S. Army Staff Sgt. Jesse L. Williams, want to give everyone our very deepest thanks for the outpouring of love and respect given to us and our son, brother, uncle, nephew, grandson, friend and daddy.

While we don’t know if or how one recovers from something like this, we do know that without the outpouring of continued love from the entire time of learning of his death up through and even after his burial, it would have been unimaginable without the continued support from our friends, Jesse’s friends, our dear family, Jesse’s Warriors, Kyler and Madison’s schools, the Patriot Guard Riders and the DAV, the Red Cross, Granger Community Church, Billings Funeral Home, the city of Elkhart, our Army hero and CAO, Sgt. 1st Class Damon Schroeder, and many others that I’m sure we can’t think of right now.

For every card, every hug, every best wish and prayer directed to us, know that each and every act and thought touched our hearts and helped the hurt turn in a direction of healing.

So from the bottom of our hearts, to every person who stood on a cold street to the emergency workers on every intersection and overpass, we thank you. God bless everyone.

Elkhart is so very truly the City with a Heart.
