The week finished on a wild note with a night game at Notre Dame Stadium as the Irish stomped on Michigan. Friday night football included wild weather that postponed play for area teams. Fairfield Falcons volleyball hosted the Jimtown Jimmies, and Memorial hosted Central and Westview for cross country. A family and a neighborhood remembered the murders at Saleh’s Market and a family asked for help in finding their missing loved one.

Clouds cleared over Rice Field Saturday, Sept. 6 and Central and Penn resumed where they left off Friday night.

The fall prep season continues with action in tennis, football, and soccer, including a surprise for the Northridge soccer coach. Notre Dame started their 2014 campaign.

 Jimtown players wait for the lights to come back on. A power outage delayed the game for over 20 minutes in the second quarter. Jimtown hosted NorthWood in a football matchup in Baugo on Friday night, Aug. 22, 2014.

Prep action got underway in earnest this week with Northridge soccer and the battle for the Mangy Lion in Elkhart. Jimtown, NorthWood battled each other and a power outage. The week also remembered Kristyana Jackson and Karsyn Bell.

Students from Concord, WaNee, and Elkhart marked the first day of school this week. Pet lovers celebrated at Pet Fest and a local church held a candlelight vigil in response to the news from Ferguson, Missouri.
