 St. Vincent de Paul Church historian John Karasch reinstalls the large window at the top of the steeple at the church Thursday, Oct. 23, 2014.  The huge ringer hangs inside the bell in the middle of the tower built in 1888.

Nearly four months have passed since the start of construction on the overpass. See how the work has progressed and changed so far.

 YWCA Representatives, Girl Scouts and women of the Red Cross march down Main Street as some of the reported  7.000 people who participated in Elkhart's Memorial Day parade on May 30, 1918. This picture were taken for The Elkhart Truth by Elkhart commercial photographer Harry W. Hughes from the canopy of the old Bucklen Opera House. The publication of the picture in the newspaper the next day was one of the first times - if not the first- that The Truth ran local pictures of a current news event.

Last week The Elkhart Truth celebrated its 125th anniversary. A collection of images, both old and new, were featured during a breakfast event at the Crystal Ballroom. Here’s a gallery of the images displayed.

A quick drive around Elkhart County in search of farmers working in the fields led to a stunning display of fall color.
