Social Event

On behalf of the West Goshen Neighborhood Association, Deb Collins, Sarah Leach, Deb Pederson and I (the WGNA steering committee) want to thank all the Goshen city employees who helped make our first social event a success. Our Back-to-School Popsicle Party at Bakersfield Park brought people of all ages, from young families with children to retirees.

Thanks to Officer Curtis Weldy of the Goshen Police Department, many attendees were able to register their bicycles for free. Firefighters from Central Station welcomed children to inspect a fire truck and ambulance and answered questions. David Gibbens from Goshen Parks made sure we had extra picnic tables and trash cans. Finally, the mayor’s office allowed us to copy our flyers announcing the event.

Thanks is also due to Julia King, LaCasa’s neighborhood outreach coordinator, who has provided information, counsel, and encouragement for our efforts at bringing our neighbors together to form an official Goshen neighborhood association.
