Peer to Peer taught by mentors living in recovery
If you or someone you know is living with a mental illness, this class is excellent! Sponsored by the National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI) of Elkhart County, the fall class of Peer to Peer will be from 1 to 3 p.m. Sept. 23 through Nov. 25, each Monday afternoon.
Peer to Peer is taught by NAMI trained mentors living in recovery. Learn to live in recovery and wellness through education, discussion, interactive exercises and stress-management techniques.
Topics include relapse prevention, brain biology and research, mental illness symptoms, stigma, mindfulness, recovery, spirituality, substance abuse and addiction, physical health, suicide and prevention, working with providers, empowerment, advocacy, and personal stories in a safe and confidential atmosphere.
