Why should park be available to only those who can pay?
My parents bought their house on North Main Street back in the 1950s, so the Wellfield Botanic Gardens has been important to our family and neighbors since before it had a name. We were happy that the Rotary Club had taken it on as a service project and put paved walkways in so my dad, in a wheelchair, could join us for our Sunday walks. Every time we walked in the park we would see the gifts God gave us in the form of a new flowers and plants or a pond filled with minnows.
I was under the assumption that the land for the park is owned by the city (the people) of Elkhart. Why does this park need to be taken from us and only used by the citizens who can afford the entrance fee?
