Digital society $SUBT_ON$Remembering when neighbors were neighbors$SUBT_OFF$

I saw a cartoon in the paper where lots of people were walking up and down a neighborhood street looking at their iPads or taking on the cell phone, not looking up at their neighbors.

It would’ve given me a laugh if it did not make me so sad.

I look back on times gone by when neighbors knew neighbors, helped neighbors and had block parties where everyone brought quick food just to sit around and talk (never about religion or politics).

Those were fun times when neighbors were neighbors.
