Joe Donnelly $SUBT_ON$We need people in Indiana with real progressive views$SUBT_OFF$

I read in my local newspaper about Gabrielle Giffords, the former U.S. representative from Arizona, giving emotional testimony at a Senate gun hearing.

In January 2011, she was shot in the head and nearly killed by Jared Loughner. She pleaded with senators to enact more gun control.

Sen. Joe Donnelly of Indiana, a Blue Dog Democrat, opposes a proposed assault weapons ban!

I voted for Donnelly, as he was a better choice than GOP tea partier Richard Mourdock. I also voted in the primary for Dick Lugar, who was a better senator and a better choice. It’s sad that he is gone.

We need people in Indiana with real progressive views!

I was afraid that in the House, Donnelly would vote against affordable health care, but I guess someone twisted his arm. There are still miracles!

I hope Donnelly wakes up and realizes the NRA is a lobbying group for the gun manufacturers and gets on the progressive bandwagon!

Arizona Department of Correction Director Charles Ryan talks about the review of the execution of Joseph Rudolph Wood, in Phoenix, on Thursday July 24, 2014. The nearly two-hour execution Wednesday of a convicted murderer prompted a series of phone calls involving the governor's office, the prison director, lawyers and judges as the inmate gasped for more than 90 minutes. They discussed the brain activity and heart rate of Wood, who was gasping over and over as witnesses looked on. The judge was concerned that no monitoring equipment showed whether the inmate had brain function, and they talked about whether to stop the execution while it was so far along.
