ELKHART — Police have arrested a 43-year-old man in connection with a robbery that sent a New Paris man to the hospital.
Jeffrey Ramon Hill of Winona Lake was arrested by Elkhart County Sheriff’s officers on Tuesday, Nov. 12, on a preliminary charge of armed robbery in connection with a Nov. 4 home invasion in the 71000 block of S.R. 15, according to a news release from the sheriff’s department.
The investigation has been sent to the Elkhart County Prosecutor’s Office for formal charges.
The investigation into other individuals involved in the incident is ongoing.
According to police, two men forced their way into the home of Donald and Beverly Neer on Monday, Nov. 4, and stole several firearms, electronics and cash.
The Neers’ son-in-law Brad Osswald said the two men beat Donald Neer with a tire iron and he was hospitalized with a skull fracture, his neck broken in two places and a possible broken wrist.
