Police looking for two suspects in New Paris robbery

Police are asking the public's help identifiying suspects involved in a robbery Monday night.

NEW PARIS — Police are investigating a robbery that happened in New Paris Monday night, and officers are asking the public for help identifying the suspects involved.

According to a press release from the Elkhart County Sheriff’s Department, deputies were called at 9:40 p.m. Monday, Nov. 4, to the 71000 block of S.R. 15, to the home of an 82-year-old man and a 78-year-old woman.

The victim of the robbery, the 82-year-old man, said two men forced entry into his home. They struck him with a metal object and took money, guns and electronics from the residence.

The victim was taken to the hospital with non life-threatening injuries. He described the suspects as two tall, slender black men, about 40 years old.

The sheriff’s department is asking for anyone with information that could lead to an arrest to call 574-533-4151.
