KOSCIUSKO COUNTY -- After a months-long investigation, authorities from six police agencies in Kosciusko County conducted a raid early Thursday morning and arrested five people in connection with promoting prostitution, as reported by The Elkhart Truth's news partner WNDU 16.

Samuel Scott Stimmel, 64, the manager of Stimmelator's Gentleman's Club and California Dreamin', already had a warrant out for his arrest for one count of "corrupt business influence," and another charge of felony promotion of prostitution was added after the raid. He was booked into the Kosciusko County Jail but posted the $100,000 bail assigned to him.

Donn Lee Rupert, 51, Kimberly Kay Gill, 32, and Kelly Joe Whitman, 23, of South Bend; and Christine Marie Bennett, 27, of Warsaw, also were arrested on preliminary felony charges of promoting prostitution. All four are being held on individual $2,000 bonds.

Officers from the Syracuse, Warsaw, Pierceton and North Webster Police Departments, along with Indiana State Troopers and deputies from the Kosciusko County Sheriff's Department conducted the raid.

An initial investigation was started in July, WNDU reports.

Authorities also confiscated synthetic drugs or "synthetic drug lookalike substances," as well an undisclosed amount of cash from the buildings, and got warrants to search a semi-trailer located behind Stimmelator's Gentleman's club.

The full news release from the Kosciusko County Sheriff's Department is posted on WSBT's website.
