ELKHART — The Elkhart County Sheriff’s Department is hosting meetings the first week of November and inviting the public to meet with officers and voice their concerns.

Ten meetings are scheduled from Nov. 4-7 throughout the county. Officers from the detective bureau and the patrol division will attend the meetings. They will be divided into separate teams to address issues in each township.

As part of the department’s crime reduction plan and community policing initiative, the sheriff “wants to solve more crimes by giving citizens the opportunity to access and provide information to an officer assigned to their township,” according to a press release.

The department also encourages residents to interact through social media, by following its Twitter handle, @ECSDnews and liking it on Facebook.
