Police asking for public’s help identifying suspect
The Elkhart County Sheriff's Department is asking the public for information leading to the arrest of a man accused of sexually assaulting a woman this week.

ELKHART — The Elkhart County Sheriff’s Department is asking the public to help identify a man accused of sexually assaulting a woman Wednesday morning, Oct. 2.
According to a press release from the sheriff’s department, deputies responded at about 7 a.m. to the 52000 block of Brookstream Circle to investigate the sexual assault of a 50-year-old woman.
The incident happened at about 5:30 a.m. in the victim’s apartment after the suspect entered the house.
The suspect stole a cellphone, keys and cash, and left the scene on foot.
The suspect was described as a 6-foot tall black male in his late 20s to early 30s. He was described as being of thin build, with a scraggly goatee and short hair.
A composite sketch of the suspect was completed with the help of an Indiana State Police sketch artist.
