ELKHART — Elkhart police have arrested a second suspect in last week’s double homicide at Saleh’s Market.

The Elkhart Police Department arrested Richard Gross, 22, around 8:30 p.m. Friday, Sept. 13, in the 26000 block of Leland Road in Elkhart, according to a news release from the department.

He’s facing a preliminary charge of felony murder, the release said.

Another suspect, Kevin Moore, 28, was arrested on Friday, Sept. 6 and was formally charged with two counts of murder on Wednesday, Sept. 11.

Police officers were called to Saleh’s Market, 401 Middlebury St., around 9:30 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 5, for reports of a shooting.

The two victims — Jagtar Bhatti, 55, and Pawan Singh, 20 — were pronounced dead at the scene.

Neighbors said the two men were kind, generous and never hesitated to help people who were down on their luck and needed food.
