Elkhart street blocked by fallen tree

Fallen tree knocked some power lines down and blocked a street in Elkhart.

ELKHART — Firefighters and other departments have been working this afternoon to clear Myrtle Street after a tree fell and knocked some power lines down.

Neighbors reported the incident Thursday, June 13, at 1:17 p.m., according to dispatch. Firefighters, American Electrical Power, the street department and the city forestry staff were called to the intersection of Myrtle and Cedar streets. The tree is blocking Myrtle Street, between Cedar and Bower Streets.

No injuries were reported as a result of the incident, according to dispatch.
