Goshen house fire under investigation

The Goshen Fire Department is seeking the community's help in fire investigation.

GOSHEN — The Goshen Fire Department is reaching out to the community, asking for any information regarding how a fire started that destroyed two houses Sunday.

Firefighters responded to 425 N. Fifth St. near the S.R. 15 train overpass around 5:09 a.m.

The fire destroyed two houses on that block, with an estimated damage of $40,000. Jim Ramer, assistant fire chief, said the fire department is still investigating the cause, but they could not point to any malfunctions in the houses that could have started the fire.

According to a press release from the fire department, information leading to the arrest of person responsible for this fire may be eligible for rewards of up to $5,000.
