Police have identified the victim who was fatally shot early Friday morning outside Gemini’s Bar and Grill at U.S. 33 at Mishawaka Road in Elkhart.

The Elkhart County Coroner’s office identified the 25-year-old man as Cordero Edmond Williams-El of Elkhart. According to a press release from the Elkhart County Sheriff’s Department, the cause of his death was a gunshot wound to his chest. The man was identified by his tattoos.

Names of two bystanders who were also shot have not been released at the time.

The sheriff’s department is asking anyone with information about the shooting or the suspect involved to contact the department at 533-4151.


ELKHART — Police are investigating a shooting outside Gemini’s Bar and Grill that left one person dead and two others injured earlier today, Nov. 23.

Elkhart County Sheriff’s Department deputies responded to a complaint of gunfire at about 2:54 a.m. at the bar on U.S. 33 at Mishawaka Road.

A 25-year-old man was fatally shot, and two women suffered non life-threatening injuries. Sheriff’s Lt. Brian Holloman said the two women were taken to Elkhart General Hospital.

He said witnesses have said the place was relatively quiet before the shooting.

Capt. Jim Bradberry, public information officer for the sheriff’s department, said the case is still under investigation and no one is in custody as of this morning.

Around 8:30 a.m., police were at the scene collecting evidence around the area. A red car parked outside the bar showed damage of the shooting, with the windows on the right side of the vehicle broken from shots that went through.
