ELKHART — Police are still investigating a robbery that occurred Friday afternoon, Sept. 14, at a bank on Cassopolis Street in the city’s north side.

A report of a robbery at Chase Bank, 3530 Cassopolis St., came over the scanner at 2:48 p.m. and authorities immediately responded.

According to Lt. Laura Koch, public information officer with the Elkhart Police Department, a white man was seen entering the bank and walking out with an undisclosed amount of cash. He was seen getting in a green Dodge Durango and leaving the scene.

Witnesses said the man had long gray hair and was in his late 40s or early 50s. No weapon was seen during the robbery and no one was injured. Koch said there had been robberies at that bank in the past. Police thought they might have located the Durango across the state line in Michigan, but later reported it was a different vehicle.
