Investigators still looking for answers in Starr homicide

Investigators are still searching for suspects in the Starr homicide.

ELKHART— Investigators are still searching for information leading to the suspect in the murder of 26-year old Jessica Starr.

On August 8, 2011, at approximately 11:30 p.m., Starr had just arrived home at 28765 Melody Lane when she was approached at her vehicle.

A struggle apparently occurred inside her car. Someone inside the residence heard screaming and called 911.

Elkhart County Sheriff officers found Jessica lying in the backyard. She was pronounced dead at the scene. It was later determined she had been beaten and stabbed.

Crime Stoppers has made Starr’s homicide their Crime of the Week, and is offering a cash reward of up to $1,000 for information that leads to an arrest.
