Boy dies after being trapped under pile of corn meal in Wakarusa Sunday
A 9-year-old was found under a pile of cornmeal Sunday and pronounced dead at EGH.

WAKARUSA — The Elkhart County Coroner’s Office has ruled in death of they 9-year-old boy who died Sunday night as accidental asphyxiation.
The Elkhart County Sheriff's Department has identified the boy as Kevin Burkholder.
Elkhart County police responded to a call in the 64000 block of C.R. 3 around 9 p.m. Sunday about a boy trapped in a pile of corn meal, according to the Elkhart County Sheriff’s Department.
The boy was tunneling through the corn meal when it collapsed on him, police said.
Lifesaving efforts were conducted, but the boy was pronounced dead at Elkhart General Hospital.
