One killed in LaGrange County accident

The victim in Friday’s two-vehicle accident has been identified as 20-year-old Jamie Lynn Gingerich of Shipshewana.

He had been an employee of Jayco Inc. for five years, according to his obituary.

LaGRANGE — One driver is dead after a two-vehicle accident on U.S. 20 about 5 p.m. Friday.

LaGrange County Sheriff’s Department has not released the name of the deceased. The other driver, Randy Swygart, 62, of Decatur, was not injured.

According to the Sheriff’s Department, the accident when vehicle one, traveling north on C.R. 1150 W., failed to stop at the stop sign and was hit in the driver’s door by vehicle two. Both vehicles traveled a short distance before going off the north side of U.S. 20.

The driver of vehicle one was pronounced dead at the scene.
