BRISTOL — Donna Belusar will lead ADEC as its Chief Executive Officer, the organization announced Thursday, Sept. 5.

Belusar, who currently serves as ADEC’s chief financial officer, will succeed Paula Shively when she retires Oct. 31.

The decision was made during a specially called board meeting on Wednesday, Sept. 4, according to a press release from ADEC.

“It was a tough decision. But it was a unanimous decision,” said Kevin Boyer, board chair.

Belusar is a native of Michigan who holds an undergraduate degree from Michigan Technological University, an MBA in finance and an honorary doctoral in corporate enterprise management from Binghamton University in New York. She spent 26 years at IBM’s New York and global services offices and four years at CTS in Elkhart before joining ADEC in March 2012, according to the press release.

She has also volunteered with United Way, Habitat for Humanity and the American Legion.

“Leading ADEC fulfills a lifelong passion of mine to serve an organization devoted to improving the lives of the vulnerable among us who need a voice,” Belusar said.
