State and local organizations and businesses will offer a seminar on growing business Wednesday afternoon, July 17.

ELKHART — A seminar planned for Wednesday, July 17, will give the people who run local businesses advice from local businesses, organizations and state agencies on how to grow their business.
The Growing Your Business Seminar will run from 1 to 4 p.m. and is free to business managers. It is put on by WorkOne, Lake City Bank, SCORE Michiana, the Indiana Economic Development Corp., Strawberry Fields Marketing Agency (a sister company to The Elkhart Truth) and U.S. Rep. Jackie Walorski, R-2nd Dist.
It will be at the community center on the Ivy Tech campus, 22531 C.R. 18.
According to Chuck Knebl, WorkOne spokesman, seminar topics will help business managers navigate business opportunities and issues like access to capital and motivating employees to strengthen their skills.
Specific topics will include:
Tips and insights on gaining access to capital, as presented by the Indiana Economic Development Corp.
Practical information on developing an efficient workforce, including Millennials in the workforce, highlighting services provided to firms by WorkOne at no charge.
Summaries of seasoned advice from SCORE Michiana volunteers, who have experience making difficult decisions from the business-management trenches.
Useful information on managing unemployment insurance and audits.
