Two women were hurt Sunday, Oct. 6 after a crash on C.R. 115, near C.R. 18.
According to a release from the Elkhart County Sheriff’s Department, Kelsey Rowley, 22, of Elkhart, was driving north on C.R. 115, approaching C.R. 18, at 12:49 a.m. when she went left-of-center and off the left side of the road as it curved because the road was wet at the time.
Rowley’s vehicle then ran into a utility pole and a guard rail.
Two passengers in Rowley’s car were taken to Elkhart General Hospital to be treated for their injuries.
Kasee Strantz, 22, of Mishawaka, suffered a cut on her head and Paulita A. Hernandez, 35, of South Bend, suffered minor cuts on her head and arms.
According to the release, the cause of the crash was speed too fast for the weather conditions and left of center.
Police said the investigation is continuing on whether Rowley was operating while intoxicated.
