The closure is part of an ongoing sewer project.
The closure is in front of the NIBCO Inc. corporate office on Middlebury Street.
The suggested detour will use Goshen Avenue, Toledo Road and Industrial Parkway, officials said.
The closing was discussed briefly at the city’s board of public works meeting Tuesday morning, Oct. 1.
In a related matter, the board agreed to add stop signs to several residential intersections after sewer construction is complete.
Some of the intersections have previously relied on yield signs while others didn’t have any traffic control signs, said Leslie Biek, an engineer for the city.
Those include the following intersections: Gary Court and Baker Drive; two involving Carolyn Avenue and Baker Drive, which create a loop; Evans Street and Floral Court; Grand Avenue and Evans Street.

The board also finalized plans to auction the Sims Oak Hills Golf Course, the municipal facility that closed last year.
The city sought bids earlier this year, but only received one and chose to reject it because it did not meet financial expectations.
The auction will be conducted by Bartel and Co., a local real estate and auction firm, on Oct. 19, according to information provided by the city.
The board also approved plans to designate four existing parking spaces near the NIBCO Water and Ice Park for handicap parking.
