ENGLEWOOD, Fla. — Terry Dean Brenneman, 66, of Englewood, passed away Sunday, Sept. 15, 2013, unexpectedly at home.
He was born on Dec. 4, 1946, in Elkhart, Ind., to the late Theron and Mildred (Noffsinger) Brenneman.
Terry was a Vietnam era veteran who served in the U.S. Army.
A resident of Englewood for 18 years, coming from Portage, Mich., Terry owned and operated several restaurants including a McDonald’s in Kalamazoo, Mich., and the Lickity Split Café in Englewood.
He was a member of the Loyal Order of Moose Lodge 3000 in Indiana and was a former member of the Lemon Bay Sunrise Rotary Club in Englewood.
He was predeceased by his sister, Vicki Spicer, just three months ago.
Terry was an extraordinary man who loved his life and his family. His compassion, warm smile and sense of humor will be missed by his customers, the Lickity Team, his friends and family but most of all his wife and daughter.
Survivors include his loving and devoted wife of 47 years, Carol R. Brenneman of Englewood; one daughter, Laura Lee Brenneman of Rotonda West; two brothers, Theron (Barb) Brenneman of Elkhart and Dennis (Bonnie) Brenneman of Lafayette, Ind.; many loved nieces and nephews; his lovable grand-dogs; and his dog, Gracie.
Visitation will be Thursday, Sept. 19, 2013, from 5 to 8 p.m. at Englewood Community Funeral Home, 3070 S. McCall Road. A funeral service will be Friday, Sept. 20, 2013, at noon at Englewood United Methodist Church, 700 E. Dearborn St. Entombment with military honors will follow in Venice Memorial Gardens Cemetery.
