Five indicted on federal charges by a Grand Jury Wednesday

Antonio King, 33, of Elkhart, was indicted on one charge of being a felon in possession of a firearm. Assistant U.S. Attorney Donald J. Schmid will prosecute the case.
Jose Gonzalez, 61, of Milford, was indicted on one charge of possession with intent to distribute a controlled substance and one count of distribution of a controlled substance. Assistant U.S. Attorney Frank E. Schaffer will prosecute.
Quintien Walker, 22, of South Bend, was indicted on one charge of providing false statements during the acquisition of a firearm. Schmid will also prosecute this case.
Ryan Dean Smith, 27, of Peru, was indicted on one charge of being a felon in possession of a firearm. Schmid will prosecute the case.
Vernado Ruben Malone, 41, of Indianapolis, was indicted on one count of mail fraud, one count of wire fraud and one count of aggravated identity theft. Schmid will also prosecute this case.
“If convicted in court, any specific sentence to be imposed will be determined by the judge after a consideration of federal sentencing statutes and the federal sentencing guidelines,” according to the press release.
