DOWAGIAC, Mich. — Louise A. Williamson, 81, of Dowagiac, passed away Monday, Sept. 2, 2013, at Timbers of Cass County, in Dowagiac.
Louise was born on Nov. 10, 1931, in Dowagiac to James William and Mildred (Wittenbrook) Urick.
On May 10, 1986, she married William Williamson in Niles.
Louise attended Southwest Michigan College where she earned her LPN degree. She was a lifelong resident of Dowagiac. Louise proudly served her country as a member of the U.S. Air Force. She loved art, cooking and traveling. Louise enjoyed spending time with her many friends and family, especially her grandchildren, whom she loved to share historical events with.
Louise is survived by her five children, Kevin (Patsy) Silvia of Arlington, Va., Joseph (Jo) Silvia of Dowagiac, James (Judy) Silvia of Dowagiac, Karen (Larry) Kijak of Elkhart, Ind., and Mary (Craig) Jerz of Decatur; 11 grandchildren, Debbie, Jon, Lisa, Allen, Mason, Chris, Kimberly, Danielle, Jason, Joey and Justin; 15 great-grandchildren; two half-sisters, Dorilou Knoll of Decatur and Norma Rogers of Saginaw; and her sister-in-law, Shirley Urick of Americus, Ga.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, William Williamson; her twin brother, Lewis Urick; and her half-sister, Evelyn Morris.
Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 5, 2013, at Yazel & Clark Chapel 405 Center St., Dowagiac. A Celebration of Life will be 11 a.m. Friday, Sept. 6, 2013, at the funeral home. Burial will follow in Riverside Cemetery in Dowagiac.
