The Greater Elkhart County Stormwater Partnership will hold a workshop on reducing stormwater runoff from 4 to 6 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 22, at the Purdue Extension Conference Room on the Elkhart County 4-H Fairgrounds in Goshen. The program reimburses homeowners up to $50 per rain barrel, with a maximum of two rain barrels per home, and up to $250 for plants for rain gardens.
Over the last three years, the program has helped 153 homeowners in Elkhart County install 220 rain barrels and 22 rain gardens.
The program is open to homeowners in areas where residents pay stormwater fees to fund the partnership’s programs, including Elkhart, Goshen, Bristol and unincorporated parts of the county.
Attending the workshop is a requirement for reimbursement. For more details and applications, call Eric Kurtz at 533-3630, ext. 3; email him at email@example.com; or visit stormwaterelkco.org.
