GOSHEN — Robert H. Wray, 91, died early Monday morning, Aug. 12, 2013, at Courtyard Healthcare after a short illness.
He was born Oct. 1, 1921, in Atwood to Roy and Bertha (Kintzel) Wray. He married Mary Marquess on March 23, 1944, in Atwood.
She survives along with two sons, Jim (Cathy) Wray of Goshen and Jeff (Lori) Wray of St. Charles, Ill.; two daughters, Barbara Wray and Nancy (Steve) Petry, both of Goshen; eight grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Charles and Lowell Wray; and a sister, Laurabelle Myers.
A Goshen resident since 1949, Mr. Wray retired as a production foreman from Western Rubber after more than 30 years of service.
A World War II veteran, he was a life member of VFW Post 985, the American Legion and the DAV.
He was a member of Plymouth United Church of Christ. He was an Indiana University and Chicago Cubs fan and was a great euchre player.
Friends may call from 4 to 7 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 13, 2013, and for one hour prior to the 1 p.m. funeral service Wednesday, Aug. 14, 2013, at Yoder-Culp Funeral Home. Pastor Linda Sue Hewitt of Plymouth United Church of Christ will officiate. Burial with military honors will be in Violett Cemetery, Goshen.
