GOSHEN — Wilhelm Wegener, 85, died in his home Saturday morning, July 13, 2013.
He was born Nov. 6, 1927, in Glusingen, Germany, to Adolf and Erna (Rank) Wegener.
He married Elfrieda Komm on March 18, 1947, in Jesteburg, Germany. She preceded him in death on Dec. 8, 2008.
He is survived by a son, Heinz (Nanalee) Wegener of Cumming, Ga.; four grandchildren, Scott (Jessica) Wegener, Quinn (Sarah) Wegener, Heinz (Mariana) Wegener and Jessica (Kenny) Kling; nine great-grandchildren; and a brother, Arnold Wegener of Goshen.
He was preceded in death by a son, Dieter Wegener; two brothers; and three sisters.
He was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, Goshen. Mr. Wegener worked many years for Duplex.
Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, July 19, at Yoder-Culp Funeral Home and for one hour prior to the service at Trinity Lutheran Church at 11 a.m. Saturday, July 20. Funeral service will be at the church, and Pastor John Hickey will officiate. Burial will follow in Miller 8 Square Cemetery, Goshen.
