The board accepted Jesse’s resignation at its meeting Monday evening, June 10. He told his fellow board members and school officials how much he had learned and enjoyed his time on the board and serving on state committees. Board members and school administrators also thanked him for his time and dedication to his role.
Jesse will be moving to Michigan, so he can’t remain on the board.
The school board is now beginning the process to fill the seat created by Jesse’s resignation.
The opening is for an at-large position, so it can be filled by anyone within Goshen Community Schools’ boundaries, according to Jane Troup, school board president.
Letters of interest should be received by the board no later than Tuesday, June 25, and will be reviewed by the board with interviews to follow. Appointment by the board to fill this vacancy will be decided by a majority vote by the school board. The term for the position ends Dec. 31, 2014.
Applicants are encouraged to review policies 0140 and 0144.2 on Goshen Community Schools’ policy website, www.neola.com/goshen-IN, prior to the interview.
Letters of interest should be sent to Jane E. Troup, board president, Goshen Community Schools, 613 E. Purl St., Goshen, IN 46526-4044.
