According to a report from the Augusta Chronicle, Kevin Devonte Richardson, 21, was wanted in the May 3 beating of Ashley Solesbee and Wesley Spires. The couple was clubbed with a metal bat or pipe on May 3 as they say on a bench at Riverwalk Augusta.
A second suspect, Robey Eugene Moses, 21, was arrested in Newberry, S.C. on May 10.
Richardson turned himself in on Wednesday, May 15. He had altered his appearance by cutting his hair and shaving, but was identified through fingerprints.
Richardson was still detained in the Elkhart County Jail on Monday, May 20, awaiting extradition to Georgia.
Lt. Travis Adamson said the investigation is ongoing and declined to comment on why Richardson was in Elkhart or why he turned himself in.
