Kevin Hagen, 56, of Cromwell, was sitting in his Ford Escape on U.S. 6 east of C.R. 13 at about 10 p.m., waiting for a construction light to change, according to information from the Elkhart County Sheriff’s Department.
Brett Williams, 22, of Ligonier, was driving his Jeep Cherokee and collided into the rear of Hagen’s vehicle, then ran off the south side of the road into a ditch.
Both vehicles suffered disabling damage and were towed.
Both Hagen and a 46-year-old passenger, Abby Hagen, also of Cromwell, complained of neck pain, while a 1-year old passenger suffered an abrasion to her face and right eye and was transported by ambulance to the hospital for non-life threatening injuries, according to the sheriff’s department report.
Williams was issued a citation for driving too fast to avoid a vehicle collision. He did not suffer any injuries.
