ELKHART — Richard A. Neely, 60, of Elkhart, died Friday morning, May 3, at Center for Hospice Care.
He was born Dec. 19, 1952.
He was a 1971 graduate of Penn High School. He served his country in the U.S. Army from 1971-74 with a tour of duty in Panama.
He married his wife, RayAnn Neely of Union, Mich., April 28, 1979.
Surivivors include his wife; daughter Sharon Jordan of Tucson, Ariz.; grandchildren Kayla McKee of Elkhar, Koral Jordan of Edwardsburg, Mich., and Killian Myers of Tucson; father Howard Neely of Tucson; siblings Francis (Victoria) Neely of San Francisco, Kate (Larry) Lemanski of Tucson and Sue (Neely) Sharp of Elkhart; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Elsie Neely.
He recently enrolled at Ivy Tech College to complete a two year program in information systems, software design. Richard loved flying model helicopters, camping, canoeing and fishing.
A celebration of his life is planned later this summer at Oxbow Park in Elkhart.
