GOSHEN — Lowell F. Sonner, 81, passed away Saturday, April 13, 2013, in his home, surrounded by family.
He was born March 10, 1932, in Elizabeth to Straude and Dalena (Redden) Sonner.
On Nov. 25, 1968, in Elizabeth he married Vera Yeater.
She survives along with five children, Bonean (William) Gore of Churubusco, Brent (Kathleen) Sonner of Nappanee, William (Lori) Sonner of Indianapolis, Vickie (Augustine) Vega of Goshen and Richard Sonner of Mishawaka. Also surviving are 24 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Malcolm Sonner.
Lowell graduated from Elkhart University with a degree in dental technology, and founded Michiana Dental Studio in 1969. A couple of his many accomplishments included being past president of the Association of Indiana Dental Laboratories, developing and patenting the technique and process for Tri-Tone Characterization and farming a 200 acre farm on the side. Some of his hobbies included hunting, fishing, gardening and raising hunting dogs. He was also a lifelong Dodgers fan.
Visitation will be for two hours prior to the 2 p.m. Saturday, April 20, 2013, funeral service at Walley-Mills-Zimmerman Funeral Home. Presiding will be Pastor Bob Vale from Osceola United Methodist Church.
Memorial contributions may be given to hospice.
Elkhart Cremation Services has been entrusted with arrangements.
