Peoples Forum: Same-sex marriage can never be moral

Perhaps he needs a refresher course or he has never read! Corinthians 6:9-10 states, ďDo not be deceived. Neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor homosexuals, nor sodomites, nor thieves, nor coveters, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor extortioners will inherit the kingdom of God.Ē
Rev. Van Ess, himself gay according to the article, also says that biblical passages are outdated, exaggerated and taken out of context. It makes me wonder why anyone would even read a book if they donít agree with any of its contents.
Scripture tells us that Godís words never change and we are not to take anything from or add anything to His message.
Leviticus 18:22 and 20:13 and many other places in the Bible state, ďIf a man lies with a man as he lies with a woman, they have both committed an abomination.Ē God could not have made it any plainer, and any attempt to misinterpret or alter the meaning of these words in an attempt to justify oneís own unnatural and immoral lifestyle will be vain.
Rev. Amy DeBeck, pastor at the Unitarian Universalist Fellowship, prefers to call the practice equal marriage. But when she compares same-sex marriage with a man having more than one wife, her words become too ridiculous to even discuss.
We should all remember that there is a big difference between manís laws and Godís laws. People can make same-sex marriage legal, but they can never make it moral.
