Residents should have their piles placed at the curb of their yard, away from utility poles, trees and fire hydrants, by 7 a.m. The street department will make a single trip down each street and move as quickly as possible. The street department has scheduled April brush collection to last for two weeks.
For the April collection only, leaves and garden plants will also be collected. Leaves may be loose or in bags and separated from brush. Leaves should not be mixed in with normal household trash, as the trash company can't take bags with leaves.
Brush collection weeks will be the last week of every month, beginning May 28, June 24, July 29, Aug. 26 and Sept. 30. Leaves and garden plants will not be collected.
Brush will not be collected in city alleys.
Yard waste may be taken to the Goshen Environmental Center, 20100 C.R. 19, from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Friday and 8 a.m. to noon Saturday. There is no charge for Goshen residents dropping off leaves and brush. Other yard and garden waste may be dropped off for $1 per bag or $10 per pick-up truck.
For more information, contact the Goshen Street Department at 534-9711.
EDITOR'S NOTE: The original version of this story incorrectly listed prices for yard waste drop-off. The story has been updated and is now correct.
