ELKHART ó Leonard R. Jobe Sr., 83, passed away Tuesday, March 26, 2013, after a short illness.
Born Jan. 3, 1930, he was the son of the late Freeman and Lorraine (Rupe) Jobe.
On Nov. 10, 1978, Leonard married Jacqueline (Riley) Poormon. She survives.
Also surviving are three children, Donna (Bill) Ricker of Mishawaka, Leonard R. (Cheryl) Jobe Jr. of South Bend and Brian K. (Linda) Jobe of Florida; three stepchildren, Suzanne (Mike) Byrne of Middlebury, Cynthia (Wayne) Armstrong of Alabama and Sally (Phil) Shupe of California; six grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; six stepgrandchildren; and nine great-stepgrandchildren. His beloved dog, Lucy, also survives.
Leonard was a very passionate and hard-working man. He was employed as a charter bus driver for Cardinal Buses for more than 20 years. He loved his job and enjoyed meeting new people. While his family loved him and missed him while he was gone, they always knew how much he loved and missed them too. His passing will leave a void for so many.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Good Friday, March 29, 2013, at McGann Hay, Forest G. Hay Chapel, 435 S. Ironwood Dr., South Bend. Visitation will be for one hour prior. Burial will follow at Sumption Prairie Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to a charity of the donorís choice.
