ELKHART — The community is invited to a presentation on the trafficking of guns and different approaches to working for peace.

The Mennonite Central Committee Great Lakes will host the event, which will be at 7 p.m. Saturday, March 23, at the Hively Avenue Mennonite Church, 800 E. Hively Ave., Elkhart.

Fred Kauffman, coordinator of the MCC Philadelphia program, will speak about the topic. Kauffman has spent years working on gun violence prevention, according to a press release from the MCC.

The event will include a statistical analysis with information on gun violence and the availability of guns in Elkhart County.

The event is free, and refreshments will be served.

The event is part of the Violence Prevention Storytelling Tour, which is planned by MCC Great Lakes. The tour will make stops in schools, universities and churches in the area.
